2nd Anniversary of Katrina - My message to New Orleans.
We the taxpayer have so far to date paid $114 billion to rebuild Hurricane Katrina damaged areas. That’s the simplest of numbers and a more motivated person could find all manner of collateral and indirect expenses to beef that amount right up. Now, with that $114 billion in mind, look at this image, which odds are you have seen before.

Now if you have even a modicum of sense you will be thinking, “We paid $114 billion so that people can move back into what might possibly be the dumbest city location in history? Were there no vacant volcanoes or sandy cliffs they could build on instead?” Granted, not all $114B went to the city of New Orleans, but a lot did.
I don’t care how sentimental you are over some jazz club you went to once. When your city floods again, and I promise you it will, you will get nothing from me but my sincerest, “You are not a victim if you knowingly sit there for years and wait for the next flood. Therefore you are not worthy of sympathy or help. Good luck.”
