Top five brain foods (aka eat stuff to get less dumb)
Posted on June 14, 2007 by Shawn
To break my negative posting streak, here is a list of the alleged top 5 health foods for your brain. At least according to brainready.com authors. Hit the link at the bottom for the full spiel on each item.
- Wild Salmon. The likelihood of my ever eating salmon is right up there with the chances of picking up a hooker in Baghdad that turns out to be the pope in drag. Not going to happen.
- Cacao Beans. Apparently this doesn’t mean we run out and mainline wunderbars and poky. To quote the site, “100% organic non-alkalized cocoa powder from a high-quality maker.” Boring.
- Matcha (Tencha-grade green tea powder). Damn marketing duping us into chugging tea that just happens to be green in color. This one section alone on the site is worth reading if you think you drink some form of healthy green tea.
- Acai berries & Blueberries. I have never seen an acai berry in my life. However, I do consume a deviant amount of boo berry every Halloween, so my brain should out live my body by about 3000 years. The article refers to blueberries as “brain berries” which I really think is the name they should have gone with instead of boring old “blueberries.” A berry for the oft forgotten zombie health nuts.
- Coffee Beans. Another good section to read if you mistakenly think that caramel macchiatos are making you smarter.
There you have it. Ask for life altering random information of the internet and it shall provide. Fortunately, following the advice of eating these things is pretty safe. If you get smarter because of this list, you owe me.
