Bunnies don’t lie
Today in the theme of this bunny holiday weekend, I present to you a themed example of a little corporate dishonesty. This is a silly example, but I think it illustrates a point. Plus it fits the bunny theme and is even kind of funny.
First, the video:
Now that you have seen the video, you’ll want the mentioned FAQ here. Which says,
Why has the size of the egg changed?
It hasn’t - you’ve just grown up!
Granted this is not cutting edge investigative journalism by any means. What it reminds me of though is the annoying habit companies have of basically lying. What I say Cadbury’s FAQ should have said is,
Why has the egg size changed?
Two factors lead us to change our egg size this year. Firstly that those customers we asked found the smaller egg to still be plenty for a one serving snack. Secondly, thanks to sheer volume we could save a good deal of money on less ingredients. Which we felt was better than raising the price.
Was that so hard? I believe that a little honesty goes a long way. The point here though is to think of how often companies lie to us, often in little ways, every day. Are there times when they tell us little lies that end up being dangerous or hide a damaging agenda? Enjoy your smaller Cadbury egg this year, and maybe it will remind you that bunnies are completely honest, but they don’t run companies.
